Via Tevere Pizzeria

Date Visited: June 15th 2014
Address: 1190 Victoria Drive Vancouver, BC
Type of Restaurant: pizza, Italian
Price Range: $$
Recommended: Graffe con Nutella – Homemade Neapolitan fritters dusted with sugar and cinnamon and drizzled with Nutella
Overall: 8.5/10
(1-4: will never come back, 5: pass (I’m okay with a tinier morsel), 6: acceptable, 7: okay, 8: good, 9: Wow! Please enlarge my morsel. 10: Perfection. I could eat a morsel of this every day!)
Will come back? If I have time to line up then yes
What I ate:
Frittura Napoletana – A sampling of fried Neopolitan street fare
  • 8.5/10
  • Everything was nicely fried and well flavoured
  • 8.5/10
  • Had a smoky taste from the oven they use
  • Had a good amount of cheese
Quattro Formaggi – fior di latte, ricotta, smoked provolone, parmigiano
  • 8.5/10
  • The cheese wasn’t too overwhelming or too rich
  • Different types of cheese gave a different texture and contributed differently to the pizza
Salsiccia e Rapini (white) – Fior di latte, Italian sausage, broccoli rabe
  • 8.5/10
  • White pizza with sausage tasted unique
  • The vegetables help balance out the sausage
Proscuitto e Rucola – Tomato, fior di latte, prosciutto, fresh arugula
  • 8/10
  • This was the saltiest out of all the pizzas because of the prosciutto but it still tasted good because of the crust
Daily Pasta
  • 8.5/10
  • Pasta was well seasoned and cooked al dente
Daily Pizza – with tuna
  • 8/10
  • Most disappointing pizza out of the bunch because it had very little tuna
  • But the olives made up for it because my family is a fan of olives
Tris di Dolci – sampling of 3 desserts (Graffe con Nutella, tiramisu, torta caprese)
  • Graffe con Nutella
o   9/10
o   Served hot, was crunchy and inside was fluffy
o   Not too sweet, good chocolate flavours
  • Tiramisu
o   8/10
o   Creamy, but lacked coffee and rum flavour
  • Torta Caprese
o   8/10
o   Perfect texture and paired nicely with the whipping cream
o   But nothing special
Summary: Pizzas are good because they are baked in an authentic oven. Daily pasta is worth a try. Graffe con Nutella is delicious (and not only because of the Nutella). Service is friendly and welcoming but not worth the 1 hour wait.
