What I ate:

Double Baked Almond Croissant
  • 8/10
  • I heated this up at home so it may have tasted differently if not done so
  • The outside was nice and warm and crunchy
  • It was flaky yet hard, in a good way
  • The outside could have used more almonds
  • The inside paste was not overly sweet

Cheese Scone
  • 7/10
  • There was a good cheese flavour
  • Not as buttery as I would have preferred
  • The inside was too dense and wet, almost to the point where it almost felt uncooked

Matcha Black Sesame cake – black sesame mousseline, matcha white chocolate mousse, almond and chiffon cake (GF)
  • 7.5/10
  • A tad too sweet
  • The black sesame provided a bitterness and fragrance that was a nice touch
  • Could not taste the white chocolate
  • Could definitely taste the almonds in the chiffon cake to the point where it was too strong and maybe overpowering
  • The green tea taste was very strong which was enjoyable

Green tea Matcha cream puff
  • 7/10
  • The outside choux pastry was probably the crunchiest puff I’ve ever had which was enjoyable
  • The green tea cream on the inside was a good consistency
  • I would have preferred if it was a tad sweeter so as to bring out the green tea flavour

Classic Cheesecake – hazelnut sable base, classic baked cheesecake, fruit compote (GF)
  • 7/10
  • The hazelnut base took over the flavour of the cheesecake
  • It wasn’t too rich but also wasn’t hard enough
Things to Improve on: Perfecting the flavours of the food. Could try adding different textures to the desserts
Summary: Pastries are okay for the price. But definitely not the best cakes in town. Some improvements are to be made.
