Thomas Haas

Date Visited: October 29 2014
Address: 2539 W Broadway Vancouver, BC
Type of Restaurant: Bakery, dessert, coffee, chocolates
Price Range: $$
Ambiance (out of five)/Setting/Design/service:
4/5 – can get loud at times, seating is limited. The design is high end and chic. The service was friendly
Recommended: Coffee and Pastries
Overall: 8.5/10
(1-4: will never come back, 5: pass (I’m okay with a tinier morsel), 6: acceptable, 7: okay, 8: good, 9: Wow! Please enlarge my morsel. 10: Perfection. I could eat a morsel of this every day!)
Will come back? All the time
What I ate:
Double Baked Almond Croissant
  • 8.5/10
  • Good size and a decent amount of almonds
  • Extremely flaky and buttery
  • There was a good amount of almond filling inside
  • My only complaint was the sweetness of the croissant
  • 8.5/10
  • The art on it was standard
  • The coffee was nice and strong, not bitter tasting and smooth
  • Would have preferred it to be made a bit hotter
Things to Improve on: Thomas Haas has always been my bias when it comes to baked goods. I always enjoy everything but sometimes some of the baked goods can be on the sweeter side.
Summary: Thomas Haas has good coffee, friendly service and great pastries.
