What I ate:

Shiromizaka no shiso Fry – breaded deep fried white fish with shiso leaves upgraded to combo (comes with 2 side dishes and fries upgrade)
• 7.5/10
• The white fish was very good and not overly fried or breaded
• The shiso leaves were a nice touch
• The side dishes were good
• The radish sauce that came with the radish was a bit too sweet
• The fries tasted like it came from the bag

Unagi Don
• 7/10
• The unagi lacked smoky BBQ flavour that I was looking for
• There wasn’t enough sauce and the sauce didn’t penetrate deep enough into the eel
• Luckily the eel was not over cooked
• The rice was disappointing, and did not taste good
• There was also too much rice to the amount of unagi given

Katsu Don – breaded deep fried pork, onion, egg
• 6.5/10
• The pork was overcooked and over breaded
• The onion added a nice sweetness
• And the portion was great
• But it didn’t go down easy, the pork was way to dry and the rice did not pair well

Daily Special – Uni Don (Sea Urchin)
• 6.5/10
• Not a lot of uni was given and it didn’t taste especially fresh
• Had a more bitter flavour and was watery
• Lacked flavour and uniqueness

Green Tea pudding
• 6.5/10
• Had little green tea flavour
• Very bouncy like jelly
• The whipping cream on top gave it a little more texture
• Lacked crunch but luckily wasn’t too sweet
Things to Improve on: Overall flavours and textures
Summary: Family run Japanese restaurant, some authentic flavours but not at the best standard that it could be at.
