Type of Restaurant: International, steakhouse, Pacific Northwest
Price Range: $$$
Ambiance (out of five)/Setting/Design/service: 5/5 – service was attentive, the amazing view of Stanley Park was what really made me give it a 5/5 (complaint – the bathrooms kind of far)
Overall: 6.75/10
(1-4: will never come back, 5: pass (I’m okay with a tinier morsel), 6: acceptable, 7: okay, 8: good, 9: Wow! Please enlarge my morsel. 10: Perfection. I could eat a morsel of this every day!)
Will come back? No
What I ate:
20150101_164042
The Bellini – peach schnapps, champagne, Bacardi white rum and sangria
  • 7/10
  • This alcohol was really overpowering
  • Couldn’t really taste the peach

Hot Chicken Wings
  • 6.5/10
  • On the sour side and not that hot
  • The wings weren’t very juicy but luckily it wasn’t dry either

Calamari – peppers, jalapenos, dill, tzatziki, chipotle aioli
  • 6.5/10
  • The octopus pieces were too small, they were miniature and hard to find
  • There was more batter than seafood
  • The chipotle aioli dip was good but the tzatziki one was meh (disappointing)

Ravioli and prawn trio – butternut squash and mascarpone ravioli, truffle butter sauce, sautéed jumbo prawns, pine nuts
  • 6/10
  • The portion was way too small for the price we paid
  • The mascarpone filling was on the sweeter and richer side
  • The truffle butter sauce just tasted like butter sauce and added a great lusciousness to it
  • But the jumbo prawns had a nice snap to it, cooked perfectly

Prawn Spaghettini – slow-roasted tomato sauce, chillies, fresh herbs, crostini
  • 7/10
  • The spaghettini was cooked perfectly
  • It was also flavoured nicely and the slow-roasted tomato sauce is good

BBQ Duck Clubhouse – peking duck, roasted chicken, prosciutto di Modena, pecan fruit bread
  • 7/10
  • The pecan fruit bread added a nice sweetness to the dish but it was way too hard
  • The Peking duck wasn’t dry but didn’t taste like Peking duck
  • The prosciutto di Modena added a nice crunch to the sandwich
  • I found the overall sandwich on the drier side
  • But I enjoyed the interesting mesh of meat flavours

The Feenie Burger – smashed certified Angus beef, sautéed mushrooms, aged cheddar, smoked bacon, red relish, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard
  • 6.75/10
  • The beef wasn’t dry yet I wish it could have been more juicy
  • There was too much vegetables in this burger
  • There was a tad too much mayonnaise and ketchup
  • The bun was toasted which was good but it couldn’t hold the fillings well
Things to Improve on: Overall portions and price, also the balance of flavours
Summary: Expensive for the quality, but the view was great. The food was mediocre at its best and some of the portions don’t justify the price.
