(1-4: will never come back, 5: pass (I’m okay with a tinier morsel), 6: acceptable, 7: okay, 8: good, 9: Wow! Please enlarge my morsel. 10: Perfection. I could eat a morsel of this every day!)
Will come back? No
What I ate:
(used a social shopper promotion for this meal)
Seafood Sampler – Rock fish, shrimp
  • 5/10
  • On the bland side
  • The only thing with flavour was the sauce
  • Portions were on the small side
Award-winning Lamb Couscous – Ras-el hanout braised lamb, root vegetables, chickpeas, onion confit, raisins, Moroccan jus
  • 7.5/10
  • Good amount of lamb for the amount of couscous provided
  • The couscous itself was well executed – the sweetness of the onion confit was balanced with the texture of the chickpeas
  • The Moroccan jus was a nice touch
Chicken couscous – saffron chicken, chickpeas, onion confit, raisins, Moroccan jus
  • 7/10
  • There was a lot of chicken in this dish and I found some of the pieces were on the drier side (couldn’t really taste the saffron)
  • The couscous was the same as the lamb à good
Honey Lavender Panna cotta – wildower honey, lavender, fresh fruit
  • 7.5/10
  • Strong lavender flavour
  • Lacked honey flavour but still a good sweetness
  • Could have been smoother
Summary: The portions of the entrees are great but if you are sharing the appetizers they are a bit on the small side. Some very interesting flavours developing at Morocco West.
