Ambiance (out of five)/Setting/Design/service:  4.5/5 – comfortable, pretty clean, staff was friendly and patient
Overall: 7/10
(1-4: will never come back, 5: pass (I’m okay with a tinier morsel), 6: acceptable, 7: okay, 8: good, 9: Wow! Please enlarge my morsel. 10: Perfection. I could eat a morsel of this every day!)
Will come back? Probably not – unless I was in the area and craving Hong Kong style food
What I ate:
Stir Fried Flat Rice Noodle with Beef and soy Sauce Mini Set came with Milk Tea
  • 7/10
  • The beef quality was inconsistency – some were chewy and some were tender
  • The noodles were well cooked
  • But unfortunately it wasn’t coated in enough soy sauce
  • The colour was a bit off and the soy sauce flavour could have been stronger
  • But the portion was great for the price and there was a good ratio of bean sprouts to noodles to green onion
Milk Tea
  • 7/10
  • Was pretty good, not bad
  • It was slightly better than your average milk tea but not as smooth and silky as the milk tea at Li Do
  • It wasn’t too strong or weak, just right
  • Not overly watered down, just lacked smoothness
Baked Rice with Pork Chop and Chicken Fillet
  • 7.5/10
  • The rice was tossed with egg which was a nice touch but I would have preferred some chopped green onion as well to slightly brighten up the dish
  • The pork chop was still crispy although it was slathered in sauce and was tender
  • The chicken was also tender but could have been juicier
  • The sauce on top was good – nice and sweet with savoury elements
  • The tomato and onions were well cooked and added different texture to the dish (also made it feel more healthy)
(sorry for the bad picture I was obviously too excited to eat it)
BT Specialty Doubled Boil Egg Custard
  • 7.5/10
  • Not bad, not bad at all
  • It was very smooth and flouncy
  • Would melt in the mouth
  • Not overly sweet
  • But I wish the egg flavour could have been more prominent or a better egg could have been used to improve quality
20150228_115007Sweet Toast
  • 6.5/10
  • Disappointing
  • The toast was really thin (wished it was a thicker toast)
  • The inside consisted of coconut which was not what I was expecting – I expected just condensed milk
  • It was on the sweeter side
  • The toast was crispy but it just lacked the fluffiness I wanted (probably due to the thinness it didn’t have room to be fluffy)
Noodles Combos Soup Base Black Bean Fish Soup with Pork Toro Slices and Pumpkin Slices and Vermicelli
  • 7/10
  • There were a lot of noodles and they were cooked just right
  • The soup base was clear but lacked a little more seasoning
  • The pork Toro slices were not skimped upon and they were pretty tender and flavourful
  • The pumpkin slices were cooked al dente (but I prefer them cooked till slightly mushier)
Things to Improve on: Slight tweaks to each dish could have improved everything vastly
Summary: Overall, quite a nice “hole in the wall” kind of place. It’s got some acceptable eats and the portions and prices are terrific.
