Address: 101-4600 No.3 Road Richmond, BC V6X
Type of Restaurant: Chinese, dimsum, Seafood
Price Range: $$$
Ambiance (out of five)/Setting/Design/service: 4/5 – design is very bright and classy, service was somewhat slow but very detailed
Overall: 7/10
(1-4: will never come back, 5: pass (I’m okay with a tinier morsel), 6: acceptable, 7: okay, 8: good, 9: Wow! Please enlarge my morsel. 10: Perfection. I could eat a morsel of this every day!)
Will come back? Maybe to try some of their other famous dishes but the tea price of $2 per person is a bit too much for me to handle
What I ate:
Black truffle pork siao mai (they came like that)
  • 8/10
  • Interesting combination of black truffle and pork
  • The truffle is pretty strong so it might be an taste that needs accommodating
  • The siao mai was pretty good – good balance of fresh pork and shrimp
  • There was a nice bite to it and it was well salted
Chicken feet in Soy Sauce
  • 7/10
  • The chicken feet was okay – nothing special
  • Could have been better cooked
  • The outside of the chicken feet felt kind of rough and not very soft
Steam sliced beef Omasum (Alfred Yip)
  • 7.5/10
  • This was okay
  • Had a spicy bit to it which was interesting
  • The Alfred yip was cooked to a good degree
  • It was crunchy and kept its originally flavour
  • But the presentation was bad
Chives Rice Crepe
  • 7.5/10
  • The rice crepe was pretty interesting
  • The outside crepe part was sweet and sticky which I really enjoyed and it was fried to a nice crispiness
  • The inside had a good amount of chives and bits of meat
  • But unfortunately it was way too salty
Egg White custard tarts
  • 8/10
  • The egg white custard part was just the right sweetness and very smooth and overall just lovely
  • Very strong milk flavour
  • The tart was a little disappointing because it didn’t have enough layers to it and some parts were somewhat soggy
Steamed egg sponge cake
  • 7/10
  • the egg sponge was kind of a disappointment
  • it was a bit too sweet for me but the fragrance of the black sugar used here was delicious
  • it gave it somewhat of a caramel taste
  • but it was a little too heavy for me
Summary: Even though it is a bit expensive, it is a pretty good place for dim sum because of the special types of dimsum they have. They add their own little flare to everything.
