What I ate:

IMG_0835

Pizza ai funghi truffle fonduta

  • 6/10
  • Very strong truffle flavour
  • The pizza was not too soggy
  • Definitely not a Neapolitan style pizza but morel like a flatbread style pizza

IMG_0839

Fritto misto di mare – crisp fried seafood, vegetables, lemon and parsley

  • 5/10
  • The crispy fried seafood was very disappointing
  • Small amount of seafood – most of it was artichokes
  • Nothing tasted fresh
  • Pretty bland

Linguini alle Vongole – Linguini pasta with clams, white wine, garlic, chilli

  • 6/10
  • The linguini had a nice aroma of the sea
  • Good amount of clams
  • But the pasta itself was lacking body and form, it wasn’t overcooked it didn’t taste right

IMG_0849

Ragu di Anatra – duck ragu, mushrooms, tomato sauce, rosemary, rigatoni, pasta, Granna Padano

  • 6/10
  • Good amount of duck ragu
  • But the pasta was inconsistent – some parts were cooked al dente other parts were way too hard that it was hard to eat
  • The flavours were okay, nothing amazing

Aragosta Risotto – asparagus, lobster, lemon zest, fried Italian parsley

  • 5/10
  • This was definitely a disappointing dish
  • Being a lobster risotto, there was not much lobster flavour let alone lobster (maybe 4 small pieces)
  • The broth that was made to make the risotto must have not been seafood broth because there was no flavour
  • It wasn’t very creamy either
  • Lacked cheesy flavour
  • But luckily the risotto rice wasn’t too hard or too soft
  • Also too watery

Gallina Affumicata – smoked half game hen, chick pea fritelle, grilled bocconcini stuffed radicchio, pan jus

  • 6.5/10
  • This dish was also cooked unequally
  • Some parts were very tough and other parts were very juicy and tender which had me very conflicted
  • The chick pea fritelle was very interesting, it kind of reminded me of polenta, it could have been crispier, over salted
  • The grilled bocconcini stuffed radicchio was interesting
    • I liked the bocconcini, it was an good pairing but a little on the bitter side because of the radicchio and it didn’t taste grilled
  • Overall this dish was over seasoned and the skin could have been better fried

The desserts were not good. The tiramisu was very soft but wasn’t as creamy and as luscious as I would have wanted it to have been. The chocolate cake was also disappointing. It tasted like boxed chocolate cake and not homemade.

Overall: 6/10

Things to Improve on: consistency of foods

Summary: Overall, I was immensely disappointed by the food at Adesso Bistro especially since it has such good reviews.  The food was lacking in flavour and proper preparation. The atmosphere was great but the food is more important to me and it was just disappointing. Will not be going back again.
