Pourhouse

Headed to Gastown for lunch because I really wanted to try the new soft serve place UYU 

Decided on this restaurant because I’ve seen lots of great review on it

Lunch special – pulled pork burger with fries

The pulled pork was too dry – needed more dressing so that it wouldn’t be as dry

The fries were okay – not too crispy but still acceptable

Chicken Liver Pate

7.5/10

I really like pate and since they didn’t have bone marrow I got the pate

The pate was very creamy – nice and strong liver flavours

Went well with the crunchy bread and the dried fruit which added sweetneess to cut through the richness

Scotch Egg

7.5/10

The scotch egg was delayed upon serving appetizers because they had failed to cut it open without it breaking not once but twice

So in the end they comp’ed it (although I didn’t even complain) which is always nice – its a sign that they care about their customers

The egg was cooked perfectly – not overly runny

The pork on the outside was a bit too salty for me

The crispy fried park could have been better fried – it broke apart too easily

Luckily it wasn’t too greasy

Overall: nice place for a drink and some friends with some snacks
