Wednesday Foodie Getaway: On Yogurt

Another new kid on the block in Yaletown, On Yogurt. The location is somewhat close to Vancouver Public Library than anything else. It’s on a block with not much anything else. There selling point is ice fried yogurt which they mix on a cold plate.

We had the green tea flavour ice fried yogurt, the earl grey ice fried yogurt and the peanut butter chocolate ice fried yogurt and what did we think? It was… interesting.

The Green tea flavour ice fried yogurt was pretty good. The green tea flavour came out nicely but could have been a little stronger. The earl grey ice fried yogurt was very strong and one of our favourites. The peanut butter mixed chocolate ice fried yogurt was not so good. The peanut butter was over powering and they just didn’t go well because the yogurt flavour is quite strong in these ice fried yogurts and it became very sour which didn’t mix well with the peanut butter and chocolate.

The texture of the ice fried yogurt is kind of chewy and the yogurt flavour really comes through. But be careful when combining flavours because the sourness can create a bad result.

Green tea flavour: 6.6/10                    Earl Grey: 7/10            Peanut Butter Chocolate: 4/10
